Highpoint Garage Sale

It’s that time of year again, time for the bi-annual Highpoint garage sale! Our neighborhood wide garage sale will take place on:

Friday, June 3, 2011 – 9:30am to 3:00pm
Saturday, June 4, 2011 – 8:00am to 3:00pm

Highpoint is a neighborhood of 156 single family homes located in Wexford, PA.
Directions: From I-79, take the Wexford exit then head west on rt 910. Highpoint will be on your left just before Wexford Run Road.
Get ready for those deals, see you there!

I-79 Construction – 2011

Winter is over, and that means construction season is open. Penndot will be working on bridges between the Wexford exit and the Warrendale exit of I-79 from now until the fall. Here is a link to the details of this project:

Current Traffic Restrictions:

The following restrictions will occur:

Short-term (March 14-15)
• Single lane closure (two of three lanes open) in both directions on I-79 from 8-10 p.m. on Monday through Wexford Exit 73 Interchange.
• Single lane traffic (two of three lanes closed) in both directions on I-79 from 10 p.m. on Monday, March 14, through 5 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15 through Wexford Exit 73 Interchange.

Long-term
From 10 p.m. on March 14 continuously through mid-August
• Single lane closures (two of three lanes open) in both directions on I-79 in the area of the bridge over Mingo Road from March 14 through mid-August
• Single lane alternating use traffic on Mingo Road; 15 minute traffic stoppages may also occur on Mingo Road between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and midnight to 6 a.m. as needed.
• 15-foot wide single lane restriction on the ramp from northbound I-79 to Cranberry
• Single lane traffic in each direction on Warrendale-Bayne Road

From mid-August through mid-November
• Single lane closures (two of three lanes open) in both directions on I-79 in the area of the bridge over and Warrendale-Bayne Road.
• Single lane traffic in each direction on Warrendale-Bayne Road
• 15-foot wide single lane restriction on the ramp from northbound I-79 to Cranberry

All ramps and exits will remain open at this time.

Project Description:
A $10 million project to rehabilitate five bridges on I-79 between Exit 73 and 76 in Franklin Park Borough and Marshall Township, Allegheny County, will begin on Monday, March 14.
The project includes deck replacements, latex overlays, expansion dam replacements, substructure repairs, bituminous paving, drainage and guide rail upgrades, pavement markings, culvert cleaning and stream restoration, and other improvements on the following I-79 bridges:
• Northbound and southbound bridges over Mingo Road (Route 4041)
• Northbound and southbound bridges over Warrendale-Bayne Road (Route 4052)
• The ramp from northbound I-79 to Cranberry (Exit 76), which passes over southbound I-79
• Work will also occur on a culvert that carries the east branch of Big Sewickley Creek under southbound I-79 south of Mingo Road
The overall project will be completed in fall 2011. The prime contractor for the project is Swank Associated Companies, Inc. of New Kensington PA.
